cold air intake , short ram intake , stock intake help 01 suzuki 1.8 4cyl?
hello i have a 4cyl 1.8 how can i get best mpg , help i have read lot of about cold air intkae, stock short ram intake how can i improve my car performance “???? replacing stock or put a kn filter , cold air intake or short ram intake i like the sound of the cold air intake and the sri but is it really waist gass like a lot or how much will drop thanks
Actually with all three options your gas efficiency should be BETTER not worse. The whole point of modifying an engine is, in a way, increasing it’s efficiency. Horsepower is a byproduct of that. Honestly you won’t get much for horsepower gains with an intake alone. I wouldn’t even bother doing a simple filter replacement. A Short Ram intake might give you 3-4hp and better throttle response, but that is about it since they are somewhat limited on how much good they can do because of the fact that they are pulling hot air in from under the hood. A Cold Air intake is a VASTLY better choice, and usually results in a solid 5-8hp gain. Again, not much horsepower gain, unless you get higher flowing headers and a full exhaust system. This will further help gas efficiency and will really start to make some performance improvements. Anyways, good luck with your project!
