I need info on a gas mask?
I was hoping to get some info on a gas mask a friend gave me today. If it can still be used, if the filter might have noxious things in it, when it was made, who it was used/made by. Anything at all, really.
The filter says “Technic” and “Air” on it, not sure if it’s meant to be together. The mask itself has “III” on the front forehead area, on the midpoint of the strap in the back, it says “HEY” above a “6″ and “86″ both in their own circles. HPN86 is on the side.

That mask is French. I have seen one exactly like it, but with a Roman numeral II instead of III. Yours is probably newer. The one with the II on it was a M51 53 model French gas mask., used in the 1950’s.
