Power Commander—Is a custom map worth it?
Is it worth $150.00 to get a custom map from a tuning center for a power commander? I have had one on my CBR600f4i for a ling time now and I’m thinking about getting it done. The bike also has a K&N air filter and Jardine slip-on. I would like to hear what those of you who have had it done, basically what you think about it. Did you get a noticalbe gain? If so how much? How much did it cost? Would you have rather saved the money and kept the generic map from power commander for your bike/exhaust?
I already have the correct map from power commander for my exhaust/air filter combination. I am trying to find out info about the map a tuning center can make for my bike. From what I understand they will put my bike on a dyno and make a custom map which they say will increase the bikes performance.
$150 for a custom map? Is that per hour? If not then YES get it done it will give you a few added HP and when you ride your gears out you will feel the pull from your bike. That’s cheap I got mine done on a 06′ Gixxer 750 with a Taylor Made Exhaust for a little over $500.
